Good morning and Happy Monday! What a beautiful day finally here in St.Louis. 60 degrees and the sun out with a slight breeze, it feels great compared to all the 20 degree days we've had! Even in the freezing and gloomy days though I have had great starts to my days because of the routine/things that I do every morning! I wanna give you some tips and tricks so that you don't feel like Mondays are from the devil himself anymore. Warning though, this may take some self discipline, some self care, and may lead to you being more productive in the mornings!
First off Mondays, and everyday for that matter, starts the night before! So on Sunday evenings I have to get things done that will benefit me for the day and week to come. I clean the house, do laundry and meal prep. This is key because then during the day I can focus on things that really matter and I don't have to think about what's for dinner, if we have clean close, etc. This is one of the most important parts and can be done in an hour or less if you stay on top of things! After getting stuff done for the week and for your families week you need to take care of YOU! This is whatever you need to do to be our best self through out the week! For example, Showering and doing your hair in preparation for the next day.
You can paint your nails, do a face mask, plan your outfit for the next day or week. It will make your Monday go buy more smoothly and you will feel so good and excited to start the day. I have also found that I love to read a good book before bed! I've been reading the book "Love Does" by Bob Goff and it is nothing short of great! It helps me to move into sleep more quicker instead of looking at my phone. Sunday nights are key ya'll.I also take 5 minutes to write in my planner and plan the next day. I write every single thing that I need to do that day and eventually I will do a blog to show how I write and make lists! It triggers something in our brains to cross off things on a list and gives us a sense of satisfaction and we get proud of ourselves and want to keep going til the end. Seriously you need to try this, even with work lists, it is a game changer when you're consistent!
Monday is here... the Monday that everyone dreads. Not anymore! Mondays are now going to be so productive and help you feel way more put together and excited about the day! As soon as I wake up I'll sit there as we all do and contemplate about getting up for about a minute. After that grace period minute I go straight to the bathroom to get my morning routine going. Brush my teeth, do what ya need to do and WASH YOUR FACE! It will seriously wake you and up and you'll be more ampt to go on with the rest of your morning routine! Now is time to do something productive. Did you need to wash the dishes this morning? finish one load of laundry?
whatever you need I suggest doing one thing and marking that off your list to get your day started on the right foot! In this time I suggest you make breakfast, go to the gym, etc. Now to do these things you may need to wake up earlier but it will be easy once you stay consistent. Now let's get ready for the day. You can put your clothes on from a planned outfit from the night before or just plan it in the morning! I also suggest cleaning out your closet and really going through your clothes to see what you love and what you don't. Going through your closet will be so much easier and less frustrating.
After that you are ready to start your Monday on the right foot and be way more productive! Taking the suggestions of what I said and making them to fit your schedule is key and you can totally do it! There is no excuse to hate the Monday to come just because it's a Monday! You can add more things and slide in a devotional, take the kiddos to school etc. and you can also take things away like that extra space of time to do something. Do whatever fits for your schedule and make your morning routine fit to you! I hope this helps and gives you a little more of an idea on how to make the work week more enjoyable! Love you all! HAPPY MONDAY!
